Tribute to Mr. Noor Alam

Remembering one of Pakistan’s legendary hockey players, Noor Alam. Born on December 5, 1929, in Talagang, he made his mark as an exceptional outside right forward.

Noor Alam’s career highlights include his crucial role in Pakistan’s 1960 Rome Olympics gold victory. His precise cross to Naseer Bunda led to the decisive goal against India. He also netted goals in wins over Australia and Poland during the tournament.

Beyond the Olympics, Noor was instrumental in Pakistan’s triumphs at the 1958 Tokyo and 1962 Jakarta Asian Games, securing gold medals for the nation.

Noor Alam passed away on June 30, 2003, in Rawalpindi, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire. His contributions to hockey and his unforgettable moments on the field will forever be cherished.
