ESP and GIKI Explore the Potential of University Sports Commercialization Partnership

Nowshera, August 8, 2024 –

Elite Sports Pakistan (ESP) and Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (GIKI) have made strides in advancing the process of university sports commercialization project in its main campus at GIKI, Topi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In an exclusive meeting, key representatives from both organizations discussed the potential for a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing sports commercialization activities and opportunities for the students.

The ESP delegation was headed by the CEO, Mr. Muhammad Jamal Qureshi which included Director Miss Shifa Beenish, Regional Sports Coordinator Osama Iqbal, and Office Assistants. The GIKI delegation was led by the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan. The other members included were Dr Zia ul Haq Abbas Professor Convener of sports, the Director of ORIC Mr Ammar Ali Khan, Assistant Director of Sports Syed Shajjar Abbas, and Sports Officer Syed Muhammad Aoun Shah of GIKI.

Mr. Jamal Qureshi delivered an insightful presentation that describes ESP’s vision, mission and the concept of sports commercializing and the benefits that GIKI may accrue. There was a positive response from the sports department of GIKI since they showed a lot of interest in the ESP’s idea of a sports commercialization project, team logo and the development of a Merchandising store on the university campus.

The members of the university sports committee inquired about the pros and cons of the said project and highlighted queries which were all well responded to by the ESP’s team.

Dr Muhammad Imran and other Giki team members noted that after consulting with university officials, another round of meetings will be held to sign a MoU with ESP.

Later on, the ESP delegation led by Assistant Director Sports Shajjar Abbas also toured GIKI’s campus and visited the sports complex. The sports facilities were up to the mark and the university’s commitment to nurturing athletic talent is worth praising.
