Azam Pehlwan | Bholu Brothers

Azam Pehlwan, also known as Rustam-e-Hind, was a legendary Champion of Lahore and the Far East. Born in 1925 in Amritsar, India, Azam was an introverted and religious man who began his career as a conventional wrestler, a Pahalwan, and later transitioned into freestyle professional wrestling.

Azam’s wrestling journey took him across Pakistan, India, Kuwait, Muscat, Bahrain, Qatar, Kenya, Uganda, and South America, where he faced numerous formidable opponents. Despite weighing only 180 lbs, Azam’s strength and agility were unmatched, allowing him to tackle super heavyweights like Gora Singh and Baron Von Heckzey.

In the United Kingdom, he defeated the American Champion, Ron Reed, and in Surinam, he overcame the wrestling and karate champion, Antel Haiti (Geisingh). His impressive victories also include triumphs over renowned wrestlers such as Jeji Goldstein, George Penchef, Big Bill Verna, Zebra Kid, Ron Harrison, Bloorma, Tiger Joginder, and Arjun Singh.

Azam Pehlwan’s legacy as a fearless and skillful wrestler continues to inspire generations.
